Getting placed in an MNC is not that hard if you follow this process

Getting a job is easy, but getting your dream job at an MNC is hard. It might be hard, but it is not impossible. If you want this dream to become a reality, you have to start preparing for it from this very moment. Let me guide you through it.

While my list is short, it will take some time to achieve all of them. So, without wasting any time, let’s go through those, one by one.

Complete your primary education

Those who think primary education is not required to build up a good career, let me tell you that they are wrong. When I talk about primary school education, I don’t mean textbook studies. Your schools teach you stuff, and you are not going to learn anywhere in the world. For example, how to behave, how to be social, how to be disciplined. Trust me; once your school life is over, you will not find it anywhere else.

Even though these behavioral things seem to be very small, they play a massive role in building up your character, ambitions, and your future.

As you search for different ways to land an MNC job, I believe you have already completed your primary education. So, let us move to the next point.

Earn a degree, but get some skills in the appropriate fields

Once you have completed your primary education, your next target should be earning a degree from an accredited organization. You may opt-in for Engineering, Business, and Finance, or any other field that suits you the best. Go to college and earn your degree.

But remember, earning a degree is not enough. Your degree is just a piece of paper with your name and some numbers on it. You need to get some real skills. No one is going to hire you if you are not good at something. We call it specializations. Pickup an industry-leading topic, learn it, specialize in it.

Complete industry-leading certifications

When we are talking about skills and specializations, what is better than completing some industry-leading certifications? You can do certifications based on your current industry. For example, suppose you are planning to pursue your career in web development. You can do certification courses on HTML, CSS, Angular, and other web technologies. Similarly, if you want to pursue your career in marketing and business management, I would suggest you go for an MBA (Masters in Business Administration).

Gain experience in the relevant field.

When working on building a particular field specialization, try to get a job at a small

business working on the same technology. I am asking you to join a small business because as a fresher, you would need a lot of time to explore yourself. You might want to switch your career track, or you might want to learn more to learn a specific skill. Working at a small business with giving you that flexibility.

I would recommend reaching out to a nearby startup and ask them to hire you either as an intern or as an employee, prepare for the interview, and crack it. Start working with the startup to get the required skills. Remember, The next three-four years after your graduation is critical. Please do not waste it by roaming around with your friends or enjoying your life. The more you put your time into personal development; during this time, the better your future gets. So, make proper use of the time.

Work on your communication skills

The next thing is, you need to start working on your communication skills. Because, in a Multinational Company, you are going to meet with diverse people from different backgrounds, lifestyles, and skillsets. You will have a lot of opportunities. You will have to interact with your clients. So being good at communication is a pretty good advantage.

If you are not good at English, don’t worry, you have time now. Join a spoken English class right now. Take some online lessons. Work on your ascent, your way of language delivery. Try to communicate with more and more people. I am quite sure you can achieve it in no time.

Showcase your skills in different opensource forums

Once you have acquired all the skills, it is time to show off! Getting a job is similar to marketing. In marketing, you have to market a product. Here, you are selling yourself to get your dream job.

Before a few years, it was tough to showcase your talent. But with the growth of the internet, the scenario has changed. There are different forums where you can help. For example, suppose you are a programmer or a software developer. In that case, you can contribute to different open-source repositories on GitHub. If you have a particular skill, you can help out people on quora. Some people find it a waste of time. But trust me, there is no shortcut to it. No one will get to know your skills if you can’t tell the world what you are good at.

Connect with people on Linkedin

When planning to have a career with any MNC, it is essential to build some connections with people with a similar professional background. And the good news is, Linkedin serves the purpose. It works as a platform for an aspirant to connect with their dream companies, their employees, and stay updated with the latest industry news. And for the companies, it works as a platform to filter out good candidates. Many MNCs hire from Linkedin as well. Do you want to miss this opportunity?

So, after reading this article, open your browser and register on Linkedin if you have not done it already. Connect with relevant people and build up some great connections for the future. Make sure to keep your Linkedin profile always updated with your latest skills and expertise.

That is all from my side. If you have any points in your mind and want me to add them here, please let me know in the comment section. See you in my next post. Till then? Peace!
